The power of play therapy

One common misconception about play therapy is that we use toys, games, or art to “get a kid to talk” about their feelings or the things that have happened to them. The truth is, in Play Therapy, toys are the child’s words and play is the language. In fact, we often don’t even need to talk about the traumatic event or difficult situation in order to help a child process their deeper emotions.
