2021年2月17日 · Plus if you are doing Blue Iris you need a pretty beefy PC to process all that smart detection. I believe the protect cameras themselves do a lot of on-device processing which is how Ubiquiti is able to get away with scaling their smart detection without any beefy hardware. That being said the protect cameras are obviously pricey.

I've got a mix of the original 720P cameras, G3, G3 Flex, G3 mini, and now a G4 Pro in service at a few locations. The 720P cameras are your classic tube style, work pretty well. The regular G3 (af) cameras are a fairly good middle of the road camera with nice picture quality and flexible mounting options.

The cameras are more expensive than I would like and supply chain issues have not been great. I honestly choose Ubiquiti because I did not want to have to put together a science project with some of the other solutions out there. As you had more cameras, a lot of these others solutions start adding up on price.

I wouldn't paint the cameras. Not that it doesn't look good better blended into the background. It's just that I want people to see my cameras. Not hide them. I want criminals to go someplace else without cameras then break in and then have to file a police report that goes nowhere!!! Even cameras aren't much of a deterrent these days.

2022年3月9日 · In the current versions of UniFi Video and Ubiquiti cameras, there are three supported configurations: UniFi Video: all configuration, streaming and recording is done via the UniFi Video interface. RTSP: all configuration is done from the camera's web interface. Streaming and recording is done via a third party program that supports RTSP.

I don’t use the Ubiquiti cameras for motion sensor because Aqara offers extremely fast, reliable, and short refresh times compared to the the competition except Hue.

Not the same reliability as my ubiquiti cameras, but certainly better than nothing. I have the same problem with waiting for G3 instants to come back into stock. I'm using unifi-cam-proxy and frigate (for smart detections) on a wyze cam with the beta rtsp firmware installed.

I see we found the Ubiquiti fan boy. Their cameras are extremely over priced for what you get. I agree Wyze isn't great, but the latest Wyze for $25 has better image quality than the G4 Instant at $100 and with 3rd party firmware, I can disable the Wyze cloud connection and run RTSP to my blueiris server. I only have a few Wyze.
