2010年1月25日 · If I use the stick blender and just "pulse" a few times it goes to a med trace much faster. Depending on the EO or FO, I've ended up with "soap on a stick" a few times because of the rapid trace. I've noted that this same recipe with trace much faster if I soap at 115 degrees instead of 85 degrees.

2014年3月9日 · 6. When you take a whiff of soap, your nose would smell the top notes first. As they fade away, the middle notes would come out to "play", then the base notes would become noticeable. In soap, any time you would lather up you would smell the top note, middle note and base note in that order, but faster.

When used in soap, it puts down a protective layer that holds moisture to the skin, acting as a softener. Also contributes to a very hard bar. Limit amounts to 15% or less of your total oils or soap could be brittle.

2011年8月9日 · When you are making soap, lets say your recipe calls for 10 oz. of lye - grab your container, again make sure it is well mixed, and measure out 20 oz.(50/50 mix = 10 oz. lye and 10 oz. water.) Now lets say that your recipe is calling for 20 oz. of water, add 10 more ounces of distilled water to your mix.

2012年4月6日 · I take soap calc with a grain a salt. Olive oil (for example) looks terrible in soapmaker, but it makes great soap. Look for INS value. Lower than 40: Oily, greasy, rancid after a couple of months. Ex: 100% Flax 40-90: Slimey, and high risk of DOS. Example: 100% Soy, Canola, Corn 90-110: Very conditioning soap, very nice, but a bit slimey.
