Here's a few sketches of my own: I'll be doing a slab with hydronic heat in the house, pole barn construction with posts anchored to top of the slab, 2 stories, 4 bedrooms with garage between the house & shop which doubles as sound break.

2005年1月18日 · My uncle has a 40x60 shop with a 12'x40' apartment- its only used for long vacations, but is roomy enough for a couple as a full time aparment. The configuration is- Closet next to bathroom on the end, bedroom, kitchen, door to shop, bar/table, living room.

2005年5月27日 · I just drew up some plans for a 30 ton on AutoCAD. I haven't started the build yet, but I studied a bunch of pictures of presses in Northern Tools catalog, and other places on the web. I'm thinking about 3x4" angle 1/4" thick for the legs. 2 pieces welded together for each leg. Then using 4" channel for the bed and top frame.

2012年1月15日 · thanks, yea the sheds are gonna be very handy, and it worked out that the right shed is tall enough to clear my buggy loaded an my deckover, for those late night/bad weather returns home and too lazy to unload. i'm still gonna use my old 24x24 garage for buggy/camping gear/atv storage, like you stated; keep the shop a shop!
How much slope in shop floor? - Pirate 4x4
2007年6月20日 · I built a 1500sf shop and wanted at least a third of it (its a three bay shop) to be as flat as possible for fabrication purposes. I wish I would have had the last foot or two sloped. when it does rain (not that often in my part of the desert) it will run into the garage a bit. The flat area work well for fabbing though.
Home made waste oil heater - Pirate 4x4
2007年1月1日 · The trick we have been working on for the wood burning stoves as well as the oil burning stove in the farm shop is to build a draft pipe to bring cold outside air into the stove rather than the warm air from the house/shop to feed the fire. This reverses the draft that also accumlates a significant amount of dust in our houses.
50 ton shop press build - Pirate 4x4
2016年4月20日 · My HF 20 ton shop press wasn't enough to dimple the new cross members I make to match my bolt in motor mounts for the LS in a FSJ. So I figured I could spend 900 bucks on a 50 ton from HF or 2k for a good brand, or make my own. These are the sides. I got both sides welded today. Picking up the rest of the steel for the beds tomorrow.

2009年5月31日 · Plans are to stretch it to 104" and swap in a Dana 60/70 combo with an NP435 and Dana 300 setup. picked up some IROK Bias 39.5x12.50x16.50 tires and H1 8 bolt rims. After spending several months of my deployment doing some research and buying a whole bunch of parts i returned from the sandbox and the build began.
