Cap the new keyed Kwikset cylinder using original Schlage back cap and tailpiece. This will require you to reinsert the small spring and pin prior and keep it pushed down with the metal tool. I. Test cylinder, should turn smoothly.

The schlage is very snappy and def faster than using a key. Yale: not so much Folks have talked about the Yale battery life - it eats batteries, and if you turn off wifi you can't connect remotely. I can connect to my Schlage Z-Wave AND have the batteries last. The Yale also loses network connection constantly, each time notifying my on my phone.

Apr 1, 2020 · I have a Schlage lock too and it pings every hour as well, but mine lasts for many months without changing batteries. When I first got it I read somewhere that there should be NO resistance when locking and unlocking. If the latch is rubbing on the strike at all it can cause the batteries to wear down quick. Also try good quality batteries.

Gotcha I wasn't sure so answered both ways I interpreted the question. I have read elsewhere that setting the lock up with the Schlage app seemed to help with preferentially using Wi-Fi. I am most looking forward to thread/homekey. Agree BLE is a poor substitute for either thread or Wi-Fi.

Feb 3, 2022 · I have the schlage connect (same thing as the encode but zwave instead of wifi). I have been very happy with it. I bought it because it was the only ANSI grade 1 smart lock that existed at the time, and at its core, it's a lock that I want to protect the house with.

Don't just hammer in a screw, figure out what the right thing is. Also, don't just throw money at the problem unless you have to. The flipper is fully capable of handling that Schlage (multiple success stories on discord)

I've got kids who lose things constantly, so I like the many unlock options of the Aqara, but I know it just came out. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. The Schlage seems really solid, but now that the U100 has been out for a few weeks, what are folks thinking about it?

Aug 28, 2023 · Back when the Schlage Encode Plus deadbolt lock first came out, I was lucky enough to get an order from the first batch. I installed it April 1st, 2022. I added it directly to the Home app, never installed the Schlage app, and can confirm via the Eve app that it's connected via Thread (to one of my homepod minis or my Apple TV).

As a total newbie I just want to ask a few questions to make sure I'm getting this right. Firstly, is there a way for multiple people to have full privileges / access in the Home app?
