2022年7月7日 · Try the bolt shims and trigger upgrades. They made a huge difference in the accuracy of my 77/44. All of Ruger's 2 piece bolt rifles will benefit from the shim kits. I had a 77/357 before that I sold because of inaccuracy past 50yds or so and before I had found out about the bolt shims.

2009年12月27日 · Some years ago I bought a brand new stainless 77/44. It did almost exactly what yours is doing. After installing an aftermarket trigger, I bedded the action in the synthetic stock. Same result. I ordered a new walnut stock from Ruger. Before and after glass bedding, it did the same thing in that stock.

2018年12月5日 · The general accuracy was around 2.5” with iron sights at regular deer hunting distance with all ammo tested. The 77/44 has a clean, crisp trigger and I was happy with this performance. I like that the gun shot to essentially the same point of aim regardless of the ammo used at most ranges.

2011年1月9日 · Accuracy seemed about the same on both. I would not realisticly expect much better than 1.5" to 2.5" at 100 yards, which I think is pretty good for a pistol round. I would be happy with 2"-3" groups at 100 meters/yards.

44 magnum in a rifle is pretty soft recoiling, yet you can still achieve excellent penetration (at the loss of velocity and damage) by using slow, heavy bullets. At .44 caliber from the get-go, expansion is not strictly required, so even flat nose lead bullets will do the trick.

2010年5月5日 · After I find my most accurate loads, I will install a Burris Fastfire II sight on it. I can not think of a better handling, lighter, deadlier carbine for hog hunting than the 77/44. The handling and weight feels like a fine single barrel 410 shotgun.
