This electric Fondue pot comes with a special magnetic electrical cord, that MUST attach to the cooking pot itself. If an extension cord is needed, use one. Just be sure to connect the MAGNETIC cord to the cooking pot first, then the extension cord, then plug into a wall socket. And remember to unplug the unit when you are finished of course.
