Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by Examination
Applicants, both first-time and re-certifying, must pass the Prometric CNA Exam which is a two-part examination, consisting of a written and a performance (skills) section. The Written Test is a ninety (90) minute test with sixty (60) multiple-choice questions written in English.

Florida Nurse Aide Exam - Prometric
The FL Department of Health/Board of Nursing and Prometric collaborate to ensure potential CNAs test as quickly as possible. There are several steps (outlined here) that must be completed by the CNA candidates, training programs, Prometric staff, and DOH/Board staff before a candidate can be deemed eligible and scheduled to test.
Complete the New York State Nursing Home Nurse Aide Registry (NYS NAR) application form (see Page 32) and send it to Prometric at the address below. The application form is also online at www.prometric.com/NurseAide/NY. If required, take the scheduled exams, bringing the necessary identification to the exam center. (See Page 14.)
