2016年2月4日 · Today i drilled out the air mixture caps and did some adjusting. Really no change! I noticed that when i cover the air inlet with my hand, and blocking the air, the engine seems much more responsive. Does that mean i need to install bigger jets? The ones in it are 105. Does anyone make a carb conversion yet? I will pay anything at this point!

As air passes thru the venturi in the carb it increases in velocity which has a cooling effect causing the moisture in the air to freeze and block the fuel nozzle. This is why many snow blower engines have some heat directed to the carb or the incoming air to prevent icing.

2018年8月10日 · I'd recommend an oil change if you have this carb issue and too much oil. You can smell the oil, to be sure. It smells like fresh gas. I think the main issue with mixture from the factory is the idle mixture. There are caps on top of the carb that you can pop off to reveal the idle mixture screws. Adjust like any other carb.

2020年11月21日 · There is a small hose right next to the gas inlet port on top of the carb. If I blow in it gas comes out the top by the butterflies if I put a vacuum on it the gas goes back in the carb. Is this hose suppose to be on some intake port somewhere? This looks like it might be my problem. Engine is running so rich plugs are black.

2024年10月24日 · Hello, I have a new Rato 740 (Predator 670 equivalent) with 10 hours on it. It was surging occasionally so I decided to remove the carburetor to clean it. When I put the carb back on I noticed the governor doesn't allow the throttle to return to the idle position (with engine off) unless I push it the rest of the way with my finger.

However, recently I am getting fuel in my crankcase oil. A lot! common sense would tell me the carb float sticking or leaking by the needle valve. I have had the carb off and apart and that all seems good.

Everyone complains of how they're set to lean and the engine needs to be choked to start and to run. Mine just never idled smoothly at all! The carb low speed jets are sealed (EPA) so its not obvious they are present and adjustable.
