Pontoon boat- barrels? - Boat Design Net
Jan 26, 2007 · I am going to attempt to build a 30' pontoon/house boat this summer. I am planning, if it is possible, to use big plastic barrels to make this sucker float. My original plan was to construct a steel frame that would encase the barrels and be the two bases for my deck. What I need help is with a couple things. First how many barrels would i need.

Jun 30, 2011 · I can hear a little water sloshing in one of my logs to I want to drain it and replace the OEM plastic plugs since they are now 3 years old. The plugs are black plastic and remove with an allen wrench. The problem is the wrench wants to strip the hole before I can get the plug to even move. The builder gooped some kind of sealer on the plugs.

I have 1 "tube" (maybe 3/4" in dia.) right in the center at the top of the log which has a plastic screw-in plug in it. The first time I removed that plug, air gushed out.

Jul 1, 2010 · My question is do the logs have a seperator in them? I made sure i tilted the toon back far enough to get the water to flow to the back. how do i get the water out from the front. There are plastic plugs in the top, but there in the middle of the logs.

May 27, 2011 · My logs are fitted with screw-out plug on the back so I pulled them this week. Right log had a GOOD stream of water for at least 10 minutes, the left log dribbled for about 5, not a stream like the right. I inspected the logs as best I could, but dont see any holes at all.

Mar 26, 2006 · More so than a fiberglass or aluminum pontoon. For what I use the pontoon for, I love it. I have too much money in this to think of getting another one. I have a 4 stroke 125 Yamaha and new controls. LED lights and this year I put a cover on it (2 sections). For the money, I would look for a 28' fiberglass pontoon and strip it and work with that.

Aug 19, 2017 · Heard some sloshing in the port tube, but now that I thought about it, I was listening right by the fuel tank while the wife pulled forward and stopped on the trailer. Heard the same sloshing on the starboard side. Brought the boat to the storage yard, figured I'd try and pull the plastic plugs. Found they weren't in very tight at all.

Jul 23, 2017 · I was hoping to hear from anyone who has removed an old weathered plastic drain plug from one of the outer logs on a Premier pontoon. Both my outer toons have a plastic threaded plug with a square head for a drain plug. I think I have a fair amount of water in my port log as it doesn't sit level on my lift.
