But, my original question had to do with mixing colors of dye to get a different color. As in red and yellow make orange, type of mixing. I found the dye online though I still need to find time to experiment with color mixing.

2017年6月26日 · You should experiment with different cut depths, depending on the thickness (the weight) of the leather and the design, to see what works best. Cova color is an acrylic paint, which is water based. What you were talking about earlier is a water based dye (the Eco-Flo yellow). A dye permeates the material underneath its surface.

2024年5月2日 · On veg tan leather, Fiebings Oxblood becomes a bilious pink. I tried a very diluted form - still a bilious pink. No idea why it's called Oxblood. I gave up trying to get a pink. Will watch here, I hope someone knows how to get a good pink on veg tan. @Littlef I did not get a red, I got a pink - a deep pink or a light pink. Maybe it was the leather.

2024年12月15日 · Neatsfoot oil before dying generally has given me a smoother . . . more even color . . . especially with Saddle Tan. Oiling afterwards just gives the leather a bit more softness and pliability . . . at least that has been my overall experience in 20 years. Wet leather has always given me bad dye resullts . . .
