2024年10月18日 · In those instances (and assuming the piece in question is genuine), PCGS will identify the most serious or severe issue and encapsulate the coin with a “Details” grade reflecting its relative state of preservation aside from the problem. The most severe forms of damage involve mechanical displacement of metal.

2 天之前 · The stopper in this series is the highly rare 1876-CC, which saw a mintage of just 10,000 – most of which was melted. PCGS estimates fewer than 20 survive across all grades, and the 1876-CC generally realizes six figures regardless of grade. The proof-only issues of 1877 and 1878 are at least four-figure coins in any condition.
Opening and Resealing a PCGS/NGC/ANACS Slab
2016年7月12日 · I've often wondered whether a PCGS/NGC/ANACS slab is tamperproof in whether it's possible to open one and reseal it such that it looks untampered. I've done Google searches and the result I've always found is that the way the slabs are sealed, it's impossible to open on and reseal it without damaging the slab.

Lincoln Cent Grading Guide
Lincoln Cents should look like. The best way to do this is to look at as many Lincoln Cents as possible in higher grades. All uncirculated (Mint State) coins should exhibit Luster. A coin can loose luster in only two ways: wear and cleaning/whizzing. A coin without luster can not be given a grade of "Mint State".
