Two, vinyl siding is very high right now but it may be worth it to just return this paneling, put up OSB and do the vinyl. I think in the end the cost would be close to the same and I think I'd feel better about having OSB up than exposed plywood (which I obviously would paint).

If you're expecting the vinyl siding to fully stop water penetration, then you're starting off going in the wrong direction. There's a reason that vinyl siding has weep holes at the bottom.

2011年1月11日 · Nails should go twice as deep into the structure as the osb is deep. This means if you're using 1/2 sheathing then it would need to penetrate 1" into the stud. A 1 1/2" nail is a 6d. I would go with 8d myself which is 2". If you're hand nailing, then use a 8d sinker

One is to bring the corner edges of each sheet together at the corner totally hiding the corner stud. The other way, they stopped at the corner stud edge and did not make a connection of the OSB at the corner. Which way would be correct.
