Feels like we have a generic copy / paste across weapons between characters, but they decided to give Young Sephiroth more of a niche....to a limited extent. I'm starting to feel boxed in, like the materia system is over simplified and weapon slots are practically fixed.

2022年2月14日 · Yeah the remake had a very neat system where the materia pair glow if paired correctly, which the OG doesn't have unfortunately. For elemental and Added Effect materia atleast, you can check the status section and cycle b/w pages to see whether your pairing is working or not. If paired correctly that optioned will be highlighted in white there.

The materia system in OG FF7 was a fantastic concept, but as you progressed and unlocked more and more party members each individual character became just a vessel for materia. This is true, so the real difference between characters came down to their limit breaks.
