2021年9月2日 · At work, we hook up all the P15's with the Lenovo Workstation Dock Gen 2; this features a cable similar to mentioned above; it's a slim tip charger with a magnetic lock to an adjectent usb-c Thunderbolt cable. That way, you can easily plugin both cables simultaneously without having to 'feel around' the back of the P15.

2021年9月17日 · I'm still using the device - Lenovo stayed true to the line and went for stability. Under high load the device gets warm, but not uncomfortably so. That's a little subjective, but it doesn't bother me. This is a thick and heavy device so the heat has plenty of places to go. The bottom of the device is another story, though.

I know the usual opinion is the P15s is thinner and has less battery life than P15, but it's less heavy duty, heats up faster, and not as good.

So you cannot just compare the CPU or GPU, you need to take into account the exact machine and cooling applied, because it will affect the performance characteristics of systems.

2020年10月5日 · Well, be careful about that statement. Someone posted using the standard charger that came with their X1E and the lower watt version of the listed dock (same dock but doesn't have combined power and usb-c cable out) and it fried their laptop.

Starting from 2020, none of major vendors (Lenovo, HP and Dell) are soldering dGPUs in top 15.6" and 17.3" models of mobile workstations (ThinkPad P15/P17/T15g, Dell Precision 7xxx, HP ZBook Fury). Lenovo is using a PCIe/MXM-like connector, Dell has a DGFF interface and HP is using a Beam Connector.
