However, if I've understood the principle correctly, the purpose of their design is to replace the inherent messiness and inefficient waste of an open type fire, so replacing a standard open fire in a fireplace with what is essentially a thermal mass heater gains no advantage at all unless you build the thermal mass for heat storage around the rocket stove body.
