2011年9月20日 · My house has some uniquely sized old metal HVAC vents - I can't find replicas easily and doing htat would cost me a good amount. Instead, I'd like to re-use them. Now, that being said, the old vents are covered in paint (and mostly very dark green paint or ugly taupe).

Old photos show the chimney is brick and later faced outside with native stone. Inside has an elevated stone hearth and native stone face with passive vent below the mantle; above it is a pine paneled wall.

2009年2月18日 · The key for me was vice grips and a piece of cloth. Ideally you want the vice grips to grab the metal rod and hook on the last winding of the spring. Then when you twist the grips, the spring handle is loosened and unscrewed at the same time. Cloth just keeps everything from getting scratched.
