what is the better gas insert? Regency, Heat n Glow, or Napoleon
2014年2月15日 · Other units had better flames but that wasn't a big selling feature for me. To me, "better fire" is an impulse sales thing. In reality, you want something that provides heat and has "fire" but you're not going to sit there staring at the flames. None of the gas units look or smell like wood or will get confused with wood.

2017年2月24日 · The nice thing about replacement, if you stay with the Heat n Glo line, the new 6000 series units are the same size - height, width & depth. Unfortunately, that older style venting is not compatible with the newer units. HnG changed to their own brand many years after yours came out. Bottom line is going to be $$$.

2017年2月24日 · Heat & Glo fireplaces are NOT approved for flexible venting. Gas inserts - yes. Fireplaces - no. As I see it, you will have to move EVERYTHING. The fireplace, wall thimble & cap. That will allow you to run straight out the back like it is now. It will mean removing siding & repairing the old hole in the sheathing & siding.

As a gas fireplace repairman I kept my hand on the gas control valve, ready to turn the valve to the pilot position if the main burner delayed in lighting. But that takes some practice!
