I've seen quite a few positive reviews from Hearth members which is super helpful for those researching zero clearance FP's. In fact, I don't recall seeing anything all that negative about the Northstar. Thanks again!
what is the better gas insert? Regency, Heat n Glow, or Napoleon
2014年2月15日 · I would agree with Daksy. I have a slightly larger Regency (L540E) and it gets HOT. Other units had better flames but that wasn't a big selling feature for me. To me, "better fire" is an impulse sales thing. In reality, you want something that provides heat and has "fire" but you're not going to sit there staring at the flames.

The cost for the options for the front is exuberantly high Wondering if this would be a wise investment being nearly $8k for a fireplace. Let me know if you have any shop recommendations online or someone that ships that may sell it cheaper.

2021年10月13日 · Trying to decide between the Napoleon Oakville X4 (Model GDIX4) and Heat n Glo Escape (Model Escape-35-IFT) to replace a 30 year old gas insert in my house. Difference in quoted price (getting a good deal from a friend) on both of them was negligible so cost isn't a factor. Hoping to hear any insight from folks that own/have owned either.

2006年11月22日 · Our "big" local dealer (been in business 30 years with 5 store locations) carries Heat & Glo, Archgard, Napolean and Jotul gas inserts. Yesterday I asked the question, "which brand has the least service issues" but they just smiled, said most of the major parts are made by a single manufacturer (like dishwashers), and offered little insight.

2017年2月24日 · The nice thing about replacement, if you stay with the Heat n Glo line, the new 6000 series units are the same size - height, width & depth. Unfortunately, that older style venting is not compatible with the newer units. HnG changed to their own brand many years after yours came out. Bottom line is going to be $$$.

2016年10月20日 · The models are pretty comparable to size, BTU, features etc. The Greensmart dealer recommends a mantle with a complete surround cabinet to just slide over the insert, where as the Heat N Glo recommends a carpenter to come in and build a wall surround to insert it into to. This makes a pretty sizable difference in the pricing.

2020年8月1日 · We are looking to replace a 30 year old Heat and Glo has fireplace that wasn’t working when we bought our house. We have been looking at a Heat & Glo 8000 vs a Kozy Bayport. We’re leaning towards the Bayport as our contractor prefers that dealer, but wanted to see if anyone had thoughts if one of these brands is clearly better? Thanks!
