2018年2月22日 · unfortunately "drywall primers" and "pva primers" have generally been cheapened to the point to get them down to the box store price points that they don't work worth a crap anymore. The PPG 6-2 is a true bona fide drywall primer. Not like the cheap a55 $39.99 buckets they sell at Home Depot and Lowe's that are all chalk and water.

So to sum it up, if I test the wallpaper, and it is on bare sheetrock, and it absorbs water when splashed or wetted with rag etc, then Gardz would be the way to go. If it is over bare drywall, non-absorbent variety, then CS is the way to go. If it is over a primed type surface then strip if at all possible.

2011年9月11日 · Back to Jenni- If you are going to an eggshell, gardz is good because it makes a nice even sealed wall that has good holdout. Flat- use any of the above. I like to mix 1/4- 1/2 paint into the gardz to give it a little color and also thickens it up a bit and make it easier to handle. For basic priming it still has enough gardz in it to do the job.

2013年4月16日 · After applying and sanding your patches, coat the patches with Gardz - sometimes two coats of Gardz is optimal on raw mud to fully seal. Use the fan, as noted. Gardz will dry very fast on the raw sheet rock and mud, longer when applied to a sealed surface.

2013年9月5日 · Gardz provides a uniform, sealed surface, more so than primer. No differences in porosity on taped areas, or on drywall. Paint doesn't look any different on either area. Sheen is absolutely consistent. I don't use it for every job, but I used it on a level 5 job (no bare drywall) and it looked great as well.

2016年11月19日 · In the Chicagoland area there are 3 big box stores, Home Depot, Lowe's and Menards. Only Menards carries Gardz - for 21.00 + tax. The last gallon I bought at menards sat in my house for about 3 months before I needed to use it.

2017年9月27日 · Here's my problem with Gardz, and Romans R35, I've used these for wall prep before hanging 54" vinyl. Many times if a wall has been damaged and said vinyl has to removed to replace, the Gardz, R35 peels off leaving a gummy, rubberized substrate. Now on PT there are Gardz nazi's who will defend it to no end and refuse to address issues such as this!
