Goosneck/5th tow dolly... Legal? Functional? Availability?
2005年11月3日 · Towing a gooseneck or 5th wheel with a dolly is considered to be pulling doubles in most states. So like here in CA, you would need a class A drivers lic. to do that. And towing one on a really tall reciever mount is crazy. Notice how a gooseneck and 5th wheel trailer has the axles way to the rear.

2020年3月11日 · C Dolly - (2X) Pintle hookups with a self steering axle; way easier to backup compared to a A Dolly. Hence the reason there are A Trains, B Trains and C Trains for doubles / triples but you guys down south tend to shy away from doubles and LCV's compared to up here.

2009年1月17日 · Also with fifth wheel trailers you tend to have to swing a lot wider around turns to avoid having the trailer tires hit the curb etc. Its very easy for the trailer and bed of your truck to hit on uneven terrain especially with the dual swivel style fifth wheel hitches. Fifth wheel trailers do tow much nicer down the highway!!!

2009年5月27日 · Well the first trip pulling the Jeep behind the fifth wheel went great! Had a great time with the family relaxing at Hogans Campground @ Disney,OK Memorial Day Weekend! They had a floodgate open on Litttle Blue so it made moving from dam to dam challenging, but its always cool to see the power of all the water rushing out of the lake!

I use a big comealong to hold the middle of the vehicle, and finally figured out that using good motorcycle tie down straps on each side of the tire straps going down to the dolly at the centerline of the wheel keeps the tire ...

2007年3月29日 · Weight isn't a factor IF it's registered as an RV. The DOT regs will need to be kept up and a DOT number issued but that's it for an RV. You can drive any size RV on a class C license with an air brake endorsement if necessary. I tow my 34' boat on a trailer built for 17K, my truck grosses out at 9K.

2019年7月13日 · Having an issue with one of my trailers getting about 3/8" of slop on the dual jaw fifth wheel, but feels ok on the single jaw truck. Took truck to shop, they hooked up a kingpin on a forklift, 0 play, told me to check kingpin for wear, its damn near 2", thought maybe the 2 jaw ones were junk, but guess not.

2007年1月3日 · Typically a fullsize truck will not fit onto a tow dolly. The overall track width is too wide. Most rental outfits will not let you rent it, if they know your intentions. That said, when my folks' E-350 van ate a tranny in Carsin City a few years ago, we rented a big diesel box van and a tow dolly to get it home.
