Company I used to work for utilized the coyote in their 1/2 tons. They would crunch everything to numbers and run the drivetrains that were most cost efficient. I know they had experimented with all of the offerings and settled on the 5.0.

2020年1月26日 · With regular quality maintenance, I’ve experienced no major issues. I’ve also put 320k on a ‘99 5.4 and 175k on a 08 5.7 with regular quality maintenance. I think maintenance is the biggest factor for reliability. But I do recommend F150 5.0’s to people. It feels powerful, sounds great and handles my use, sometimes abuse well.

2021年9月17日 · I have a 2020 with oil consumption issues, valve rattling noise, ticking on startup, pretty much all the common complaints from F150 Owners. Mutiple trips to the dealer, TSB's done, oil consumption tests, octane boost tests, etc. Everytime I was told "this is normal for the 5.0 engine" LOL.

The dual overhead cam design is not to my personal preference, but its ability deliver a wide power band cannot be understated. I’m on my 3rd coyote engine. Nothing against the 3.5, it’s definitely got the edge in power if you’re towing heavy in the hills I would go that way. 5.0 has the reliability, sound, and mileage is nearly the same as the v6’s, in my case 11.7 l/100km or 20.1mpg lifetime.
