And I'm trying my hand at home-made vanilla--vanilla beans in vodka--which will be ready in time for holiday baking. That clear stuff tastes horrible and has a chemical aftertaste, imho.

There are some ludicrous claims by some Mexican suppliers of clear vanilla that it is "pure vanilla", but when you see the ingredients list, you'll know that's not true.

2007年3月11日 · Good lemon extract has an alcohol content of 83-86% (166 to 192 proof), so it does have more alcohol than even Everclear. The minute amount of lemon oil does help the paint go on more smoothly and not clump. Vanilla extract has a much lower alcohol content. It is sticky to the touch and the stickiness is bad for painting with luster dust.
