Legend, we have welded several thousand feet of sucker rod while building pipe fence and corrals using 6011, 6013 and 7018 and have had fair to good results using all three rods. The veriable seems to be quaity of the rods/pipe more than the rod used.

2004年5月24日 · Whether you are welding Inconel Alloy 625 ( most likely you are ) or Alloy 600 / alloy 686 / Alloy 800 / Alloy 825 etc ) to carbon steel, the proper filler is Alloy 625 (called Alloy112 in stick electrode form ) which is a AWS ENiCrMo-3 . This is a very common filler. Just look for the AWS classification

2009年3月28日 · Okay, those two numbers for the carbons turn out to be for 9" X 1/4" and 9" X 5/16" arc-air gouging rods. Gouging carbons might be okay for some carbon arc welding/brazing/heating work. I still have a small supply of the purpose-made 6" welding carbons. Back in the day, the cheap electrodes were baked carbon, and the good ones were pure graphite.

Carbon rods with hole in center were for different type of torch that lets your blow air down center for cutting or gouging. Carbon arc heats metal and air blows away molten metal. I would not use twin carbon torch for brazing bicycle tube frame. Hard to control all that heat on thin tube without blowing holes or dropping out your filler.

I used it twenty years ago; I used small diameter carbon rods as the "torch" and fed in the Everdure in a tig-type welding technique, it was on 18ga. galvanized air piping on a refactory kiln. If I remember right the "torch" was DCEN and the amperage was in the 20-30 range?

2010年3月25日 · When, in actuality, some manufactures have specialty 6013 rods that are stronger than 7018 rods. People that have been trained to use 7018/8018/9018….. on job sites. And have used them all their working days will tend to stick with xx18 rods when they go to the store to pick up some for their own use. 6013 rods are an unknown to them.
