Jan 10, 2015 · The low beam performance of the non-halogen high/low beam 5 3/4" sealed beam (#4000 or heavy-duty #4040) was markedly superior to the H5006 in every objective way, though the light color of the non-halogen lamp was obviously browner, a point of subjective (dis)preference and of much marketing babble regarding "whiter" light.

It means a wide, flood-type distribution of light (like "pencil beam" means a tight, narrow, spot-type distribution of light). The important thing to understand is that these are all "driving beams", i.e., high beams.

JW Speaker already offers a "classic" line for older cars with 7" lamps, but us rectangular lamp equipped car owners have to wait.

Jan 31, 2014 · I see 'em still popping up from time to time, and I can really adapt them to the widest beam, brightest, longest lasting, most manageable, baddest lights my twisted mind can come up quickly. I like sealed beams. So far I have a Radar Lite and a Ray-O-Vac Sportsman. I know they took bolt-on Eveready blocks I still see at our local hardware stores.

Jul 6, 2020 · So I got a new Chinese-made H6054NH large rectangular sealed beam and lit it up. It's awful! The American-made H6054NH was a quite respectable headlamp for what it was, but this one produces dim, brown light that looks like an old pre-halogen sealed beam. No focus is apparent, just weirdly-shaped blobs, blotches and streaks of light.

The high beam from the H4 lamp in that same size contains about 650 lumens. All assuming a standard 60/55w H4 bulb and all lamps powered at 13.5 volts.
