What is THE BEST train simulator currently out right now?
Jun 27, 2022 · Train Sim World has been my favorite so far in terms of simulating the experience of driving. Train Simulator (TS2022) has great routes and a European Experience, but focuses too much on passenger and time tables. I prefer freight rides and shunting. I will have to check out the others you listed.

Train Simulator 20xx/Train Simulator Classic/Railworks: These are various names for the same game, currently marketed as "Train Simulator Classic" on Steam. I prefer calling it Railworks, its technical name. It offers better visuals than Microsoft Train Simulator and has a large array of content, but the quality varies significantly.

User generated content tends to be very rough, missing files, etc. The DLC is free only if you can handle EXTREMELY slow speeds. Otherwise you need to purchase a ticket to get higher speeds. What is currently considered the "best" train simulator game as of now? I'm referring to driving trains, not a Railroad Tycoon-like management game. As far as I can tell, there only seem to be two real options: Train Simulator "2020" (the one Dovetail released in 2009 and re-labels every year) or Trainz (I'm not sure what the newest edition is).

The best rail simulator? Definitely SimRail. But it still is quite young and has only a small amount of content from Poland. Train Sim World would be the obvious alternative, it has routes from several countries, but the developer DTG will only do the very least to get your money. The quality is so poor that I refuse to buy it even on Sale.

Sep 20, 2020 · Run8 if you want the most realistic and accurate train sim you can get and are OK with most of the content being US oriented Freight and Amtrak stuff. It also has a solid multiplayer mode. edit: Also the routes are HUGE. Trainz 2019 if you are interested in building your own routes because it arguably has the best route editor.

Aug 21, 2022 · Unfortunetly there's very little in ways of using the other functions of the simulator (specifically the AI spawning and train tags), and this has only gotten worse with V3 and the AI train interactions with OTTO. The devs seriously need to do a documentation overhaul.

Apr 24, 2022 · For a train simulator I would recommend train sim world or train simulator 2022. For a tycoon game I would recommend transport fever 2. All these games are fun although train sim 2022 is a bit expensive. All of these games are available on steam.
