I've also heard that @gunslinger 's comment that metal pickguards should have a ground attached to them to rectify this problem is true as well.

I added the aluminum plate under the pickguard on my partsocaster to match what is on my old one, and I noticed it beefed up the sound a bit.

2008年7月29日 · There are pre-made copper foil with adhesive back in various size. Some with conductive adhesive. Copper is easier to solder on. Copper also has better conductivity than aluminum. Aluminum works as long as it's not too thin. Use a meter to check for continuity once you're done shielding.

2023年11月30日 · You haven't even indicated that you've tried both a normal pickguard and aluminum pickguard on the same guitar with the same pickups. Your first post was asking how the mechanism even worked because you didn't have a strong enough understanding of magnetic fields as what effects them (or even what would be in the magnetic field).
