2006年1月24日 · Recently I have seen a number of patients who have presented with pain at the base of the 5th metatarsal. In all cases the base styloid process has been enlarged and sitting more plantarly then would be expected. Gait analysis reveals excess pressure going thru the base of the 5th met base, hence the enlargement and pain.

2011年7月19日 · PC: right 5th styloid process pain HPC: Patient reports pain after walking for 8-10 miles. Pain subsides pretty quickly after finishing activity. She walks for recreation on weekends and has worn in/broken in walking boots which have not caused any problems prior to now. PMH: Nil of note. No fractures noted.

I'd be interested as to how you differentiate insertional PB pain from isolated styloid process pain. Also how you differentiate pain between the styloid and cuboid from the 5th Met-cuboid joint articulation?
