2009年6月24日 · If he were a professional deck contractor he wouldn't be confused about 5/4 decking which is probably used on 98% of wood decks. if he were talking about true 5/4 he would likely specify true 5/4. Same as if you were looking for a 2x4. If you wanted true 2x4 you would specifically say that.

2009年5月17日 · If I nail 5/4" PT decking I always use 3" ring shank nails. I have been back at jobs I have done years ago and they still look great and still are pretty tight. The one thing I do when I shoot down decking is keep my pressure up pretty good and sink the nails nice and deep. When the decking shrinks the nails are still a little below the surface.

Here we can only use nails, we commonly use 8d or 2 1/2" .131 diameter, and somtimes 2 1/2" galvanized ring shanks, nailed 4-6" on the seams and 8" in the field. We cannot use OSB plywood either.
