Pbw no rinse? Sodium percarbonate and metasilicate
Aug 2, 2005 · The percarbonate provides most of the cleaning action (it and soda ash/washing soda/sodium carbonate are the primary agents in oxyclean). The metasilicate apparently provides some water softening capacity so the solution is effective in hard water (which I have).

Sodium Percarbonate is the primary ingredient in most oxygen-based cleaners and is very commonly used in alkaline cleaners as well because it yields Sodium Carbonate (builder) and Hydrogen Peroxide (oxidizer).

Mar 27, 2013 · I'm not worried about infection at all; sodium percarbonate generates hydrogen peroxide which is a great disinfectant. Unfortunately, the mechanism of disinfection is oxidation! Jan 16, 2017 · Sodium Percarbonate is a good one - if you have oxyclean or any variant thereof in SA it's essentially the main ingredient. A hot water soak with the stuff will take care of most bottles, just make sure to give them a rinse or two afterwards. Some labels, such as vinyl labels or painted-on labels, and some sticker glue will still give you trouble.

May 29, 2018 · For the last year or so, I've been using a 70/30 combination of sodium percarbonate and sodium metasilicate. I've been happy with the results. It's time to order more, and I'm wondering if I really need the sodium metasilicate. FWIW, I use this cleaner for kegs and fermenters, and I always fill them to the top and soak overnight.
