2004年9月12日 · Moly-dee tapping fluid, very nice. Also, 2 flute, spiral point tap. Make sure its high speed steel, or better yet, electrolube coated HSS. Im thinking the hansons are a high carbon steel, which is not going to cut it. OMG, that was a really bad pun!

2013年8月28日 · I bought a set from HF years ago and use them all the time. I have some steel ones made for 1/4-20 threads, used 6 of them to hold the skidplate on my Cherokee. The aluminum ones are fairly strong, but will strip with too much pressure. Easier than welding to the backside or tapping, but may not be strong enough for your needs

2005年1月10日 · For the back shocks in my XJ, I am using a 6 inch disk of inner tube rubber, with a hole about a half inch smaller than the shock. Then the outside of the disk is sandwiched between the wheel well and a ring of 1/16 x 1/2 strip. Self tapping screws through the body, the rubber, and into the strip, and plenty of sealant.
