PrepRite® ProBlock® Primer/Sealer - Sherwin-Williams
We use the ProBlock primer for wall and trim on both interior and exterior applications. Adheres excellent on old slick oil base trim and walls without sanding and makes for a uniform topcoat. (Make sure to let dry overnight for best adhesion.) Sands very well for and acrylic primer. This product was specified for a commercial office project.

For optimal performance, this primer must be topcoated with a latex, alkyd-oil, water-based epoxy, or solvent based epoxy coating on architectural applications. For exterior exposure, this primer must be topcoated within 14 days with architectural latex or oil finishes. 1 hour in non-stain blocking applications. WARNING!

Use PrepRite® ProBlock® La-tex over solvent sensitive stains. Fire restoration work - Proper cleaning of the surface before applying the primer is critical on smoke damaged areas. Ap-ply one or two coats of Easy Sand Primer and test a small area before painting the entire surface.

I know that Preprite Problock Latex is designed to be SW's version of 1-2-3. From my experience I feel that the Problock does a better job of covering and sealing. SW also offers a product called Preprite Classic that you may want to consider using on your cabinets.
