2020年4月29日 · Does anyone know around what year romex changed from black to white sheathing? I know in 2001 ish when I was a second year apprentice 12 became yellow and 10 orange. 8 and 6 were black. I see a lot of black romex in remodel, not just the 1940s "rag wire" but modern style black sheathed romex.

How many nm cables under a staple, with code references
2007年2月5日 · 334.40 is where we find the rules for securing and supporting romex. There is no mention in the NEC as to how many cables under a staple. However, many staples are listed to hold two cables or less, which would make securing three cables under those staples a 110.3(B) violation. IMO, it is much ado over nothing to fail such an installation.

Right? when all wire was white I was wiring a assisted living facility with multiple units and ,as always, 12 gauge wire was specified for everything. My Apprentice installed 10-2 Romex throughout one unit and didn't notice. Decades later,saw him today,he still is not a licensed electrician.

2024年9月25日 · 1 of my biggest customers always buys the longer red Romex insulated staples for stacking Romex. I guess he cant double stack 2wire romex on the short blue stapes, you have to use these longer red ones. Is this a code requirement in the code book or is it an individual town inspector thing? anybody else run into this? thanks
