The pocketstation is simply a special Playstation One memory card with a screen and a few buttons. A few select Playstation titles could send special data to the Pocketstation where you could play a game on the Pocketstation itself, independent of the Playstation, and sometimes send data back to the game for in-game rewards.

2022年1月4日 · Yeah, it would have been fantastic if more people outside of Japan had owned a Pocketstation. A lot of the Pocketstation things I’ve tried have been fairly similar - i.e. they’ve revolved around trading or sharing various game elements. It must have been pretty cool in Japan back in the day. There’s not a lot of use for them now, though.

2021年10月7日 · Ridge Racer Type's 4 Pocketstation functionality is restricted to trading cars with other players, so unless you got a friend who also got a Pocketstation and a copy of the game, and they are playing right now, there's not much use for it, unlike the other games that actually have associated mini-games.
