But, nothing wrong with jute cord — available everywhere — both as cordage and fire starter. Far superior to sisal or binding twine as a fire starter, and comfortable/wholesome to work with.

I recently picked up a Jeff White Tracker, and the handle is a bit small for me. Experimented with wrapping the handle in some jute I had laying around, and it feels a lot better in the hand.

Apr 13, 2023 · Some examples of the twine and cordage I use for various bushcraft tasks. Jute and Sisal twine, load rated between 3 and 7 lbs. Polypropylene and poly / nylon blends, which includes the cheap mason line, load rated between 15 to 60 lbs. The good nylon mason line, poly blend paracord, real paracord, and bank line, rated between 100 and 550 lbs.

Mar 16, 2019 · having never done this, but having owned several epoxy/hemp wrapped knives (sargent edged tools, rick marchand, others..), less is more. i see a lot of epoxied wraps that just look like dried boogers. brush the epoxy on the handle, wrap, brush it on the wrap. don't soak it. but like i said, i've never done it before.
