Heat sink grease is better for the high heat area of the engine where the ICM is located. The high heat environment really wears parts out.

2017年1月29日 · I've seen ignition modules go intermittent then fail totally but I'm thinking the problem may be back at the distributor cap button somehow. Do you have another cap and rotor around anywhere? Could even be moisture in the Distributor. Also when you did replace the module I assume you did put the heat sink grease on its bottom correct?

It's like computer thermal paste but a bit thicker and stickier. DON'T use the same clear silicone dielectric grease that you would for plug wires and other connectors!

2007年4月30日 · Look at your old one, it will most likely not have heat sink cooling blades on it. That is the problem, they overheat. Get an aftermarket one with the cooling fins, and put some heat sink grease (I think mine came with a small tube) between the new reg/rec and the frame and you are good to go.
