2020年1月16日 · Hey guys, saw these recommended online and never even knew this tech existed haha. It's a heat-powered fan. The hotter the stove gets, the more power it gets and thus, faster it spins. 2018年11月13日 · Also, the fan doesn't *have* to be adjacent to the TEG and heat sink... but the fan is cooling the cool side of the TEG, so the further out you put the fan motor, the less voltage it will generate. It's possible that you could move the fan blade out onto a long shaft, and add a small chipset fan behind the heat sink to cool it directly.

2011年6月22日 · The top of my insert gets 'just' hot enough to make a free breeze fan spin, but no real usable air... more like one of those kinetic sculptures. You might look at a stand-alone fan. I bought one of these a few years ago. Reproduction of a Jost Radio fan. Has its own alcohol/kerosene burner and does produce a modest breeze under full fire.

My original was 3 blade, 5" width. It MOVED the air. I found it hard to imagine all those people thinking they were useless, toys, or cosmetic.
Anyone Tried an Eco-Fan with Wood Burning Insert
2015年11月10日 · I have one and I use it mostly to quickly judge the temp of the stove. During power outages it helps very little. Reason being it is supposed to goon the back of the stove and push air forward. There is no backof the stove on an insert, so the help is minimal. I use a computer fan rig hooked up to 9V and that works much better.

2006年12月13日 · I agree the little stove top fan is almost useless. However, that comment about soapstone not getting over 400 degrees is pure baloney. Right now ours is at 525 degrees. I definitely would recommend a ceiling fan in the same room as the stove. We have a rectangular area and have a ceiling fan plus a Vornado fan. The Vornado runs on low.
