Which Free CAD would you recommend for 3D printing?
2013年4月2日 · True CAD software either use CSG (outdated) or boundary representation (B-Rep). All modern CAD software use B-Rep, and so does FreeCAD. OpenSCAD is popular in the 3D printing community, but it's a tool for programming-minded people - which I'm not. It can only export to .CSG (an open but non-standard file format) and .STL.

Why is it so hard for CAD software to merge faces? - FreeCAD
2022年2月14日 · I guess that the advanced reverse engineering software that has tools to merge faces of even quite complex scans (I think that Rhino, SpaceClaim and maybe also GeoMagic can do this) requires some conversions between various representations of the geometry. That would explain why even commercial CAD programs such as Inventor have troubles with that.

I am also trying to add some annotations to the drawing, but whenever click on the "Annotate" icon in "Draft" WB the annotation goes into the XY plane, even though I have selected the YZ plane.
