2021年11月24日 · Does anyone know if the canopy can be opened on the new F/A18? I don’t think you can. There’s a switch on the right hand side of the cockpit but it doesn’t appear to do anything. There’s also a “manual canopy open†on the left.. that also doesn’t do anything. Regards. Steve.

2021年3月16日 · Setting CANOPY OPEN back to 100 sets the TAILHOOK POSITION variable to 100. But the (visual) tailhook in Flight Simulator is unaffected: it remains lowered all the time. So - does not work. This reminds me of my recent experiments with the “Light” switches (taxi light, landing light etc.), as described here: All simulation events considered legacy?

It is just the left hand (Pilot side) lever. It does need to be rotated all the way past the green "Open" section to begin opening but that one click spot does the job.

The canopy can be opened/closed manually or using the EFB tablet ‘Canopy’ button. It will be automatically opened when selecting the ‘Ready for Takeoff’ state and closed when selecting either the ‘Ready for Start’ or ‘Cold and Dark’ states.
