2024年2月4日 · Using the assumption that acrylic can be thinner than glass for the same strength that 1/2" now becomes reasonable especially with bracing. Trying to understand the discrepancies.. Assumed tank is approx 96"L x 30"H x 24"W.

These cracks can appear suddenly or over time and can be on the surface (both outside and inside the tank and outside) and also dependent on the type of acrylic used for construction. My last was cell casted acrylic from tenecor which showed no stress marks or crazing.

2018年12月9日 · The scratches are a night mare which is why it will take a lot for me to get another acrylic tank. Advantages of acrylic to me are 1. The ability to make what would be impossible in glass this includes both shape and size. At the LFS I worked at we sold a few 22 ft long acrylic tanks and it would have been impossible to do them in glass.

2006年2月19日 · Both my acrylic tanks were/are TruVu's. The first was a 100G. It definitely bowed, but the acrylic was probably just too thin (I believe 3/8"). I was the second owner of the tank (not sure how old it was, but when I inherited it, it was in really good shape = like new). The build quality was very good. Seams were very clean.
