2022年9月29日 · I agree. They aren’t hot to me either. To my non pepper head friends they seem hot. I’d say they are as hot as a jalapeño, which is around 8000 Scoville. I think 2x buldak spicy ramen is higher than 11,000, but that’s what Samyang lists them at. Scoville measurements, in my experience, aren’t very consistent.

I'm assuming that the pepper used in these noodles are concentrated as fuck and dissolved in the aroma oil, causing the heat to "stick" to the inside of your mouth, and making it feel hotter than the scoville rating might imply. The 2x lit my ass up (both figuratively and literally). 8000 scoville units is the same as a jalapeño, and I can eat raw jalapeños no problem. I've had the 2x spicy fire noodles quite a few times now, and every single time I can say without a doubt that the 4000 scovilles that the packaging claims seems like it's a far cry from its real heat. It's the only spicy food I've ever eaten that's been so intensely spicy that I lose hearing from the mucus build-up it causes.

I do about 1/2 a bag of the frozen ones, as well as the whole pack of noodles, and it distributes the sauce perfectly. Edit: also peanut butter works very well when I’m not quite in the mood for insane spice but want a little bit.

This is why I don't personally eat the 2x very often because it just costs everything and the heat lingers. I've eaten fresh and dried Reapers, Douglahs, you name it and they don't burn like the 2x does. The oil or whatever is in there just sticks and doesn't let go and it has a weird mouthfeel.

2020年8月19日 · I have a feeling that just like with the 2x, in practice I will eventually attenuate and find the 2x boring (which is what happened with the 1x for me). Overall, 10/10 (same score for the 2x). An excellent product. I'm a HUGE fan of the Samyang-size noodles - some of the other spicy noodle brands are much thinner which I don't like as much.
