The Deluxe Scamp 13 is listed at 1300-1600lbs dry weight. Water is 8lbs per gallon @ 20 gal tank 160 lbs + Propane and you are at or over 1500 lbs before adding clothes, food, etc. For all SOI members it is a very good idea to weigh your trailer loaded if you get an opportunity just so you are aware of how much weight you actually have back there.
Tongue weight for a 16' standard Scamp
Measured the tongue weight on our new to us 2010 Scamp 16' standard layout 4. Fresh water tank about 2/3 full, otherwise empty. We are targeting a tongue weight of 200 pounds or so. At level the weight was just short of 230 pounds. I then stood on the rear bumper (all 180 pounds of me) and Michelle said the weight was 110 pounds.

I'm picking up my Scamp 13 front bath, loaded with AC, awning, series 27 battery and 2 propane tanks. Factory says the tongue weight will be 160 lbs. On another web site a gal picked up the same unit, but with out AC and awning and a single propane tank. She had it weighed and her tongue weight was 220 lbs. I'm confused.

Last week I pulled a Scamp 16 Deluxe up and down some steep Front Range roads, keeping to the speed limit. The trailer weighed 2700 pounds, and my 3500-pound-rated compact SUV did just fine.

2017年8月23日 · We're having difficulty determining the proper hitch ball height for our new to us 2015 13' Scamp. The Owner's' Manual states "Ball heights are relative." Then it goes on to recommend 18" to the top of the ball. (We're pulling with a 2008 Subaru Outback.) Simply going with that recommendation, we'd need a hitch with a 2.5" rise.

Welcome A. and K. We have a 2015 13 ft standard scamp with big bed, front bunks, small battery, and dual LPG tanks. Our brand new Scamp, before we put our junk in to it, had a tongue weight of 255#. One 20# propane tank weighs about 25# full so even with just one tank the tongue weight would be more than what your TV is rated for.
