It is a sandable high build primer, but it comes in a 600 ml spray can, and it accepts tamiya spray nozzles! With the spray nozzle that comes on the can, you get a VERY heavy coat of primer with lots of bumps that need to be sanded.

Wipe it down, rinse the cup, spray a good half cup of reducer, then disassemble and soak all the parts in reducer and clean well immediately. You let that stuff dry in there, your gun is trash.

2007年5月22日 · Epoxy primer hands down! At one time in the PPG tech sheets PPG clearly stated DO NOT use etch primer over sand blasted metal. Reasoning is because the etch primer can pool up in the pits and not evaporate out. Now you paint over that etch sealing over it. That non dry etch loose adhesion and starts to rust because the solvents are trapped.

I was also told for the ultimate in corrosion protection that I could use an expoxy pre-treatment - for Dupont this is MetaLok CVP 255S. This is not a normal autobody paint and is hard to find.

Even though i spray only PPG colors and clears, Du Pont makes the best products for interaction with other companies product. I have never had a problem with wrinkling shrinking or anything when spraying over duponts stuff.

2010年6月25日 · Yup- done it a couple of times with self etching primer and painted the blocks with Centari Single Step enamel to match the car. Areas around exhaust ports show slight darkening after many years of use but not noticable behind the headers.
