2011年2月14日 · The hemi reminded me of a "test run" we did in my shop back in 1990. A blown alky 467 inch early hemi,6-71 run 50% over. 1198hp, 1550!!!!! ft/lbs torque. It was sitting on a homemade engine stand ($11) with ratchet straps running to various poles in pole barn. Buddys brought over a 5 gallon can of alky and we lit it up. Holy moly!

2009年11月2日 · Now engine test/run stands are a different animal but stilll simple and easily constructed. Most car guys have extra gauges, switches, radiators, wiring and even the iron laying around to do the job. Most stands are adaptable to various engines or easily designed that way.

2012年6月18日 · One guy bought the engine, and another bought the Y block specific blower setup. IIRC, Ford put those decals on their 57-59 Ford engines that were used for Police and Govt. cars and vehicles. Most probably this particular decal would have been on a 312 because of that Y8 insignia.

2015年4月28日 · Some 3" square tubing, 2 1/2" and 3" pipe (I think) and some decent casters will get you a pretty nice stand - get somebody with a plasma cutter to burn the slots in a piece of 1/2" material and use 1" square solid stock drilled and tapped to attach to the plate and some short pieces of 3/4 heavy wall round tubing for the block end of the arms.

2007年6月6日 · The 168 tooth will work, but you might have to notch the rear leg of the stand for the starter nose. I'm sure something could be rigged up for a radiator - I usually don't run them long enough on the stand to need a radiator. I just fill the block with water and run a long hose from the pump up to the goosneck.
