2010年6月14日 · Dude screw the stain. I live north of you In green Bay area and coated my prevoiusly stained latex exterior with oil primer and Duration paint and after 6 years it is still perfect. Remember not to use caulk on the cracks but Gorilla glue, let it bubble up for 4 hours and sand it down with lava rock or skive it with a steak knife.

2013年5月4日 · It would be a good idea to sand your new siding, and the old if the stain is gone and raw wood is exposed. Raw wood gets UV damage from the sun quickly, within as little as a few weeks. Power sanding is best, but even hand Sanding with 100 grit or so will help.

If you using a transparent or semi transparent I would use energy seal caulk, which comes in different colors and is stainable. Its generally used on log homes and log siding. Great caulk, but pricey. It is what we use when log home refinishing.
