2008年1月2日 · The price difference for doing this house in R21 instead of 19 is about $286. One other thing I found was that fiberglass insulation loses some R value when it is compressed. R19 will have to be compressed to fit into a 2x6 wall but R21 will not so the difference may be slightly better than I thought.

2008年1月4日 · There is insulation in some of the walls but not all. We do plan to deal with the walls later by taking down the wood boards, adding insulation and a layer of plastic, then putting the boards back up. So maybe "too air tight" is an eventual possibility.

It has just a single layer wooden door, and this is at the back of our pasture, about 150 yards from the house. 2018年1月13日 · I bought a frost king 18 ft heat tape and per the manufacturers instructions ran two strips of aluminum tape along the bottom of the PVC lines, then taped the heat tape to the bottom of the line slight coils around pressure regulator and two vertical runs. Covered it with insulation and it still works every winter!
