Why is China on google maps so messed up but other countries
2022年9月7日 · So Google.com has less accurate satellite maps of China than most Chinese map services. However, Google.cn has been authorized to use the database, at least from 2006 to 2020. In theory Google.cn should still provide accurate satellite map for China right now but I haven't checked it since 2020 before replying to this post.

Actually the Chinese used to refer to the British isles as 英倫三島 'Yinglun Sandao' which means three islands of England, no one knows the reason for it but the three islands is supposed to be England, Ireland and Scotland (sorry Wales), what strange is that the Chinese already knew there's only two islands but the term is still continuously used throughout Imperial China.
