Google’s cutting-edge quantum chip Willow has prompted discussions among scientists about the possibility that we may indeed be living in a multiverse.

Hartmut Neven, the founder and lead of Google Quantum AI, stated this week that Willow's extraordinary performance—capable of performing in minutes tasks that would take supercomputers billions of years—could be explained by the concept of parallel universes.

Google said that it has overcome a key challenge in quantum computing with a new generation of Willow chip, solving a computing problem in five minutes that would take a classical computer more time than the history of the universe.
