ROCHESTER, Minn. — Rochester's Mayo Clinic is suing health insurer Sanford Health Plan for not paying claims for a patient who was at Mayo Clinic for 52 days in 2022.

Rochester-based hospital says Sanford’s misrepresentations have stuck the clinic with the bills; Sanford counters that Mayo is “looking to shift blame for its mistakes.”

Mayo Clinic is suing Sanford Health Plan over more than 700-thousand dollars’ worth of medical bills. The Rochester, Minnesota-based Mayo Clinic filed the lawsuit in Minnesota District Court a few weeks back in December.
