The Canon Rebel T5 turned in a fast startup time of about half a second, and switching from Play to Record and taking a shot was even faster at only about 0.2 second.
All of my gallery photos were taken on the Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel with the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom lens and Lexar 40X 4GB CompactFlash card. No filters or off-camera flash units etc.
